NEWSFLASH - Zone Athletics Carnival Tomorrow / No T-Ball Training

Dear parents and caregivers,

A reminder that all competitors and student assistants are to arrive at 7:00 am tomorrow to meet Mr Hull, Miss Avramides and Miss Gavin at the GN COLA/Courts. Please email the school before this time if a student will be absent or if other arrangements have been made regarding arrival at the venue. The buses will leave promptly at 7:10 am. The first marshalling call for the day will be at 7:45 am for the 1500m competitors to start racing at 8:00 am. The carnival is being held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (near the warm-up track where we had our school carnival).

Students must listen out for their events being called tomorrow so that they don't miss their event. No events will be re-run. Attached is the Zone Athletics Program which is a guide only. Students were briefed today about tomorrow's carnival and reminded about what to bring. Please see the original SchoolBytes permission form for details. Yellow school shirts are to be worn, the captain ball team can wear their Year 6/yellow shirts. Abbotsford PS singlets will be given out in the morning with preference given to the track athletes. School hats will be required also on the day.

There is no entry fee for a spectator. Parents and spectators may park in either the P1 car park next to Stadium Australia or P2 Aquatic Centre. If you bring your parking ticket to the stadium they will be able to validate it and get your parking fee at a reduced rate.

Please head to the following website https://www.innerwestpssa.nsw.edu.au/athletics for more information. Buses will return to Abbotsford PS at approximately 3:30 pm. Any parent wishing to sign their child out earlier in the day must see Miss Avramides in the grandstand who will sign them out.

We choose to recognise the Wangal People of the Eora Nation as the true owners of the land on which we stand: of the sky above and of the water that surrounds us. We thank the Elders, both of the past and the present, who are the traditional custodians of this country and we promise to care for the land and respect it as they have done. As we play and learn together, we extend that respect to all Aboriginal people.
